6509 layer 2

My company has a large investment in Catalyst 6509’s.

I’m looking on adding an Unchannelized DS3 point-to-point circuit.

I have to accommodate only one of these circuit connections.

Rather than purchasing Flexwan blades for the 6509’s and V.35 modules on my Adtran T3SU 300 I can purchase a T3SU 300 Ethernet Bridge Module and bridge IP from the module to a FastEthernet port on the 6509.

My IOS is c6sup22-jsv-mz.121-19.E1.bin

I’m confused on setting up IEEE 802.1Q Tunneling and Layer 2 Protocol Tunneling or do I need to use Integrated Routing and Bridging (IRB).

If you are loking for bridging functionality alone , then you can go for IRB.
