The 7204vxr will hold a startup configuration when the reload command is used. When the router is powered off and back on, the startup configuration is not there anymore and the error reads: Warning: monitor nvram area is corrupt ... using default values
C7200 processor with 32768 Kbytes of main memory
Is the anything I can do to fix this.
Thanks,
Chris

Try to erase the files on the naram using command "erase nvram: " and after that configure the router and issue "write mem". That will load that config again in the nvram. After that issue "sh start" which will make the router to read the nvram again and will display the start-up config.
Good Luck.

Hello,
I found a previous post when somebody had the exact same error message. Somebody suggested:
The NVRAM (or its battery) is bad. Time for an RMA.

Georg
