hi,
i have a Cisco 877 Integrated Services Router
updated with Following specs:
IOS ROMMON: C870_RM_ALT.srec.123-8r.YI6
IOS Software: c870-advipservicesk9-mz.151-4.M6.bin
but ive been reading that i also can upgrade the ADSL firmware for ADSL to ADSL2+
and ive been reading the files for 2 of the latest firmware's but i this one "adsl_alc_20190_0.0.026.bin"
it's stated that it upgrades the modem from ADSL to ADSL2+ capability's.
and in "adsl_alc_20190_6.0.010.bin" it's not mentioned of any upgrade.
but they seem to bee latest firmware acording to the list i've seen on the downloads website.
i hope someone can clear this up for me

Hi Dennis,
Looking at the documentation the 'adsl_alc_20190_0.0.026.bin' supports ADSL2+ Annex A, where as '
adsl_alc_20190_6.0.010.bin' supports ADSL2+ Annex M. Annex M is only supported on the 877-M router.
Upgrading to 'adsl_alc_20190_0.0.026.bin' should be the one to use.
cheers,
Seb.

okay thnx for the explanation
ive been looking on the router again, and i was baffeld that on the back, there's actually 'CICSO 877W-M'
so its correct that the modem is Annex M, so im trying the upgrade to your mentioned "adsl_alc_20190_6.0.010.bin".
but ive been thinking way back for me, because i have a WRT320N if im not mistaken, so just to be sure im looking up what kind of ADSL settings are used in that one, so im sure that im using the correct annex version. because my ISP only speaks of ADSL2+... so helpfull haha.
and this is the latest readout of my router,
Router-788W>enable
Password:
Router-788W#show dsl interface atm0
ATM0
Alcatel 20190 chipset information
Line has not yet been activated.
Modem Status: Down (DMTDSL_STOP)
DSL Mode: Unknown
Interrupts: 4119 (0 spurious)
PHY Access Err: 0
Activations: 0
LED Status: OFF
LED On Time: 500
LED Off Time: 500
Init FW: init_AMR-4.0.015_no_bist.bin
Operation FW: AMR-4.0.015.bin
FW Source: embedded
DSL: Training log buffer capability is not enabled
Router-788W#exit
fyi, ive unhooked it from the life line, and as you can see its running "AMR-4.0.015.bin" so that why i wanted to upgrade it, ánd have adsl2+ function.

From the documentation, both versions support the 20190 chipset, and your router definitely is Annex M capable. It shouldbe safe to upgrade to 6.0.010 since it will be backward compatiable with Annex A.
cheers,
Seb.
