Asymmetric routing and MSFC msg

Hi

After seeing Unicast flooding due to Asymmetric routing we had to adjust the ARP timeout to match the CAM aging time. Changing the CAM aging time to

144400 seconds solved the problem But when we try to do it other way and

decrease ARP timeout as recommnded to 300secs. we started to get following mesages. Has anybody seen this msg before? what is best way to stop Unicast flooding adjusting ARP timeout or CAM aging time?

Thanks

The preferable method is to change the MAC aging time to 14,400 seconds. Are you seeing any messages on the MSFC..Check for any high input/output rate on your VLAN interfaces. Here is an explanation for the message you are seeing in the DFM

High Queue Drop rate fault is reported if the number of packets discarded due to input or output queue overflow exceeds the Queue Drop Threshold. The input (or output) queue overflow is derived by dividing the number of packets designated to be sent (or received) that were discarded due to queue overflow by the total number of packets in the queue.
