The command 'no snmp-server enable traps snmp authentication' will stop the messages. However, this message indicates that a host is attempting to contact this device via SNMP with an incorrect community string. You may want to investigate.

An SNMP request was sent by the host at the address [dec].[dec].[dec].[dec], but the request PDU was not properly authenticated.

Make sure that the community and user name that are used in the SNMP request from the remote host have been configured on the router.

Hai ,

Thanks for your suggestions. Actually the host is a print server. Only jet admin software is loaded and configured in that.Is there any to be done in jetadmin software.

Pls suggest.

JetAdmin is famous for all kinds of network anomolies such as arp every address in the connected subnet looking for HP OUI numbers. So it would not suprise me to find out that it is sending a broadcast SNMP query with a community of public or, has discovered the router ip address and just sends sysObjectID queries to every device it knows. You can debug SNMP headers and packets to see what host and what string it is using or use an external packet analyzer. Or see if there is a way to disable the auto-discovery feature in the SW.
