backbone Design Recommendation

I have two T1 and at this point we dont have good backbone infrastructure.I wanted to see if there is a recommedation doc out there for small to large backbone design.

Are you looking for a WAN or LAN backbone ?

I would recommend reading books like Network Design and Case Studies (www.ciscopress.com)
