I have a 3640 and a 1603 router both with WIC cards installed is there a easy way to find out the bandwidth they will support. when I do a show int s0 both show Hardware is QUICC Serial. I already have a 64K leased line between the two routers and want to upgrade it to 1M.

Hello,
Is it a WIC-1T? A WIC-1T can do up to 2meg.

Nadine.

Nadine,
Thanks for that I don't have easy access as the routers are a few hundred miles appart but I have found when I do a sh tech-support I can see that the 3640 has a serial 1T WAN Daughter card but I can't find out how to find the same information from the 1603. is there a different command to use ?

James,
I do not have a 1603 but on a 1721 I do a show diag to display information on the wic T1 card.

When you say up to 2Meg, does that mean an E1 (2.048Meg) will not be supported?

No, It is a T1 interface but if you provide the clocking or if a provider let you get more than T1, the interface can support up to 2 meg of traffic.
