Bandwidth Impact on Router Processing

I currently have about 1200 high speed internet customers running at 256Kbps terminating to a Cisco 7200 series router. I am thinking of doubling their bandwidth to 512Kbps. Given that the number of customers is the same, would the 7200 be handle that? Does bandwidth impact router processing? Does anyone know the capacity of a 7200 series router in terms of bandwidth and number of connections? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Trend the router's CPU usage for a week -- that's the best way to tell if you're approaching a device's throughput limit.
