Hi,
I am using 6506 as a backbone of my network.
I have installed 2 MSFC. The problem is both MSFC are not synchronizing with each other. If i put the sniffer and see the traffic it send the hsrp multicast packets.
Both have different IOS, Can it be one of the reason, or what are the reasons that MSFC doesn't synchronized with each other.
Thanks for your help...

What you mean by not synchronizing?vMSFC configs do not get synchronized automatically. You need to either configure Dual Router Mode(DRM) or Single Router mode (SRM) redundancy. The following page should help
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/sw_7_6/confg_gd/redund.htm
Also, you need to run same IOS on both MSFCs. Running differnent IOS is not a supported configuration.

Thanks for your quick reply.
What i mean for not synchronization is that when i made the changes on one MSFC it doesn't reflect on the other MSFC.
I am not sure whether DRM or SRM is being configured.
Can you please tell me how to check this.
thanks

"sh redundancy" should tell you that.
For the configuration to get synchronized, you might want use single router mode(SRM). To run SRM, you need to be running min required CAT OS and IOS on the MSFC.

Hi Irshad,
here is the link to a very good white paper:
