Hi All,
We're currently advertising BPG with two different ISP's and also use BGP for disaster recovery purposes to our private cloud. I'm not entirely sure how that works, would someone be able to provide some insight? I believe that we're only able to fail-over if network communications to our central office was down, then does BGP start advertising those routes to/from the private cloud? We are using replication such as SRM etc to replicate our VM's so I'm more curious about how the failover from a network perspective happens with BGP? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Eddie,
BGP has a feature called BGP conditional advertising.
In simple words a BGP router can wait for an event like a route that disappears to start to advertise one or more IP prefixes.
You can read the following technote
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/border-gateway-protocol-bgp/16137-cond-adv.html
This feature is very handy for disaster recovery scenarios.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
