Has anyone ever connected a cisco router to a Bigpond
ADSL Connection in Melbourne, Australia?
I have been having some major issues that is making my hair fall out. :(

Hi,
I'm not sure what your problem is but I've noticed that most of the time when dealing with ADSL switches in different countries, the main differences exist in the PVC value or PVC encapsulation type.
Maybe you should contact Telstra and ask them for their VC settings?

the main problem is that the line protocol on the virtual interface goes down after accessing the internet. more debugging showed that pinging an internet address with a packet size above 1000 bytes
was bringing down the line protocol.
however the link works ok with the supplied modem.
But the router works fine on a different ADSL connection from a different supplier. wierd?
im just wondering if anyone has seen this before?
the DSL provider will not support anything else apart from the supplied equipment.
