Bizarre C4006 Catalyst issue

I was working in my server room over the weekend doing some cable management and cleanup and we decided to reboot the switch. I saved off the configuration and proceeded to power it down and then back up again. Low and behold, the configuration for everything was still there EXECPT FOR the individual switchports and their VLAN assignments and such. Any ideas as to why this would disappear?????

I reposted the config back to the switch and it was fine. We rebooted the switch a couple more times but could not reproduce the problem.

I've noticed something similar last year with CatOS 7.2.1 uprgade.

The problem also was not reproducible.

What CatOS version re you running?

I'm user version 12.1(8a)EW1. I have not been able to reproduce the problem, however this kind of makes me nervous that should I have a power failure or something of that nature where the switch goes down, it will not come back up properly.
