Hello!

I have on problem:

I'm trying to connect Allied Telesyn L4 switch 9812T with Cisco 2611 (16/64 IP Plus) over ethernet. After few time, on Cisco 2611 Ethernet 0/1 i see a lot of input errors (more, than 60% from all traffic) in "show int eth0/1" output. AT9812 counters are ok. Next time, i'm trying to connect AT9812 to Cisco2611 over Catalyst 2950/24... On Catalyst output of "sh int fast" are ok, but Cisco 2611 still continues to show input errors. Duplex and speed are fixed on all units. Thanx, with respect, Sergey.

In general the input error occurs due to runts, giants, no buffer, CRC, frame, overrun, and ignored counts. Other input-related errors can also cause the input error count to be increased, and some datagrams may have more than one error; therefore, this sum may not balance with the sum of enumerated input error counts.

-- check your memory size and buffer for input queue.

-- check the CPU utilization, because it cannot able to handle the more no. of data comes input to the interface.

-- check the load or traffic given to that 2611 device.
