Hi,

My switch is WS-C3750G-16TD-S.

I add a 10GE module - XENPAK-10GB-LR=.

But per Cisco's document, I should use XENPAK-10GB-ER or C3-XENPAK10GB-LR=.

My question is if I can use 'XENPAK-10GB-LR'. Is there any difference between 'XENPAK-10GB-LR' and 'C3-XENPAK10GB-LR'?

my other side switch(4506) run with 'X2-10GB-LR='. Now my problem is the traffic which pass the 10G link is always limited in about 300Mbps.

Thank you all for any advice.

Regards,

Sha

Hi

AFAIK the main difference between the LR and ER is similar to the kinda of LX or ZX in SFPs.

It differs basically on 2 things like the wavelength it uses and the distance in km which it can support or drive the signal.

from my personal exp we do connect the equipments on the same kinda module on both the ends instead of putting into 2 different modules on both the sides.

attached links has the wavelength, fiber patch cord mode and also the distance supported by the respective modules ,also find the compatibility report released by cisco on this 10G modules
