Can a 3640 provide BRI service via its PRI

I'm trying to consolidate BRI's.

Can I use the BRI WIC's to provide ISDN service to other ISDN devices (Video Conf unit) via a PRI on the same router connected to service provider?

Cheers

I m not sure what you really want to do.

Are you trying to use a group of BRI ports (N BRI ports can be tied up to receive N*2 calls) to provide service, similar to a PRI ( which an support 24 or 30 calls) ??

Or are you trying to dial in from the Video Conf equipments to a PRI on your end?

Sorry it was iffy.

I have a lot of devices such as Video conf unit, fax server, etc that require BRI interfaces.

So, instead of renting lots of BRI's from the phone company I wanted to rent one PRI and connect it to the router then provide the BRI's to the individual devices via BRI WIC's on the same router. I don't know if the 3640 can act as an ISDN switch.

Hopefully this is a little more clear!

The 3640 cannot act like a ISDN switch. (Cisco IOS doesnt support ISDN switch capability, though for lab purposes, framrelay switch is supported). Are the Video conferencing unit, fax server etc using ISDN BRI interfaces on them ?

Oh OK, it was worth asking.

Yes the Video Conferencing unit etc have BRI S/T interface on them.

Thanks
