Hello everyone,
Can I use the configuration file stored on the external compact flash memory card
as startup configuration ?
It means that I want to get Cisco 3725 loaded with the startup configuration on
the external compact flash memory, not on nvram during its boot sequence.
At this time, I want to save the startup configuration to both the nvram and the
external compact flash memory.
I think the external compact flash memory card on Cisco 3725 is Filesystem
class "B", so I can not use "boot config" command as on Filesystem Class A
routers.
I would appreciate your help.

I agree with you. Cisco 3700 series routers use Class B (or C) flash file system:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_mod/cis3700/sw_conf/37_swcf/appendb.htm
So you won't be able to load the image from the flash card.

you should.copy the startup-config to slot0:startup-confg.
enter the following command in enable mode:
boot config slot0:startup-confg

Thank you very much for your reply.
I tried to configure boot config command, but I could not configure this command on Cisco 3725 (also on 3620).
I think this is due to the external compact flash memory card on Cisco 3725 is Filesystem
class "B" not Filesystem Class A that supports boot config command.
I can find the commands begin with "boot" on Cisco 3725 are follows,
boot bootstrap
boot host
boot network
boot system
I would greatly appliciate your help.
