Cat 4948 Mgt Port

Please would someone point me at the right document to assist me with configuring the mgt ethernet port on a Cat 4948 switch. Alternatively please tell me how to do it.

Any help appreciated.

The management port is only active in ROMMON mode for recovering the switch if it does not have any IOS in the flash. This interface is not configurable once the switch is up and operational. The following document should help(written for CAT4500 but applies to your switch as well)

You can configure layer 3 interface(physical or VLAN) for management connectivity to the switch.
