Hi everybody
I have a Cat6509 with 2 power supplies, see below please:
PS1 Capacity: 1153.32 Watts (27.46 Amps @42V)
PS2 Capacity: 1153.32 Watts (27.46 Amps @42V)
PS Configuration : PS1 and PS2 in Redundant Configuration.
Total Power Available: 1153.32 Watts (27.46 Amps @42V)
Total Power Available for Line Card Usage: 1153.32 Watts (27.46 Amps @42V)
Total Power Drawn From the System: 1140.30 Watts (27.15 Amps @42V)
Remaining Power in the System: 13.02 Watts ( 0.31 Amps @42V)
Default Inline Power allocation per port: 7.00 Watts (0.16 Amps @42V)
I am wondering whether is possible to tune the Default Inline Power
allocation
per port or to configure the power supplies to work together in order to have
more power for some modules that I would like to buy.
I am wondering also if there is any way to set up the switch to shut down
some
"unimportant" modules in case of a power supply failure.
The idea behind of these is to save some money :-( , to configure the
existing
power supplies to work together and to have some redundancy finally in case
something happens.
Thank you to all of you
Cristian

It's possible. Please see the following link how to configure it...

Hi and thanks.
Unfortunately what I wanted to do doesn't work. My only card that would support that command line is the one that I want to install on my Cat6509. The supplied power is entirely used by the cards already installed. Any idea how could I set up the existing power supplies to work together ? At this moment they are working in a redundant configuration.
Thank you
Cristian
