Hi everyone, this is my first post on the NPC forum because I've just bought myself a second-hand Catalyst 2926F switch. As this is the first time I've owned Cisco hardware, I was wondering if you could answer one of my questions.
I've performed a simple test by transferring a large file from one computer to another and I noticed a strange noise from the power supply when the switch is under load. Its the same sort of noise that a CPU makes when it interferes with a sound card, in other words the noise from the power supply seems to mimic the load at which the NMP is under.
The switch itself appears to be in immaculate condition because I've taken the cover off and there's absolutely no trace of any dust particles at all (including on the power supplies) and the 120mm fans look brand new.
I was wondering if this noise is normal or if a component on the PSU is causing this?
Thanks.
