Catalyst 2955 inital config and reboot

I have a 2955 switch that has been installed without completing the inital set-up. The switch is currently being used for a sensitive process that cannot be disrupted. My question is if I set the switch up via the console connection and assign an IP addy, will the switch re-boot when you save the settings to NVram? Can you access the switch via network assistant without saving the setting?

If it does than I need to wait for a shutdown window.

Configuration commands should not stop processing or reboot the switch. If you are only interested in doing simple things like names and IP address for management VLAN you should have nothing to worry about.
