We recently purchased a new 4506 with a sup2+ and the chassis came with 12.2.18(EW) on it.
We went to cco and were able to download the cat4000.6-3-9.bin for this platform as another option.
We successfully downloaded the file to the bootflash.
However, we are not able to boot off of this catos image, even after changing the boot variable to choose the Catos with the command.
boot system bootflash:catos_file_name
So, is is possible to run with Catos even if the box came with IOS? Are there any steps to take or watch out for? How can we run with Catos in this scenario?
Or is this not encouraged (allowed)?
