Hello,
I noticed this morning that on one Catalyst switch (CatOS 7.6(7)) I have a lot of messages :
SYS-4-SUPERVISOR_ERR:Forwarding engine IPX too short error counter
According to the doc., it seems that the errors counters have incremented. However, I dont see the reason why IPX appears in this message. Is there anything special to do ?
Hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance.

You probably have the same thing at your place as we have here. Our installation guys roll out Print Servers with most of the default settings enabled, which includes IPX Enabled. Our Print Servers send out "get-nearest-server" messages every few minutes, so we have quite a lot of IPX on the network even though we don't use Novell Netware.
We occasionally get the IPX too short error counter messages as well, but to be honest I haven't done any more about it. We also get IP too short messages very occasionally (once or twice every couple of months or so), but the frequency is so low that I haven't done anything about that either. I'll investigate further if the errors become more frequent.

Hello Pete,
Thanks for your reply.
This is quite possible that IPX is enabled on a device connected to the network. I will try to find it.
I'm just trying to keep as clean as possible my syslog and therefore I want to avoid as much as possible such messages.
Bye.
