I am having a problem getting a dhcp address on a 3550 interface from a Cable Modem provider. It seems they statically map the Mac Address. I need to change the Mac Address associated with the interface to the Mac they have statically set. Can this be done on a 3550?
no, you cannot use the mac-address command under a routed interface on a 3550. In fact the command was removed in later 3550 code because folks were trying to use it and it caused some problems.
