Hi All,
what is needed to change permissions from say, rwx to rw for a file, for example..? Googling on the subject showed nothing. In Linux, I know it's chmod u=rwx etc, but haven't a clue with Cisco systems. Cheers.

Hi,
As far as I know, file permissions on Cisco IOS grant access to anyone with enable password (so it would be equivalent to ugo+rwx on Linux), so you don't need to be concerned about this. Even though some IOS commands look Unix like, IOS is not Unix.
Anyway Network Administrators are supposed to be the only ones with the privilege to upgrade/erase config or IOS files on routers.
By the other way, you need to take care of file permissions when writing or reading from a TFTP server. In that case standard file permission commands on your Linux TFTP server are used.
Regards.
