I have a CISCO 3725 with the following cards:
ATM OC3
nm-16esw
I want to bridge IP traffic from a client connected to the nm-16esw card to a lane client configured on the ATM card.
Having setup bridging, I find that DHCP requests are bridged but NOT IP. i.e. once the client has an IP address it cannot talk to clients on lane client being bridged.
Having investigated this, It appears that the nm-16esw card only supports fallback bridging therefore its working as designed.
Has anybody come across this problem and have found a workaround?
Regards.
Ismail.

You have to configure the bridge port to route IP.
bridge x route ip
show bridge x - tells protocols bridged/routed

Hello,
I have tried this, as well as different bridging techniques like bridge crb, srb etc. to no avail.
I brought in a CISCO CCIE to have a look at this, again with no sucess. ( Luckily did not have to pay for this ).
The only way that I could get this working was to bridge on fastethernet0/0 ( built in port ) and uplink this to one of ports on the 16 port module.
I believe that this is the only way!!!
