Hi, wonder if anyone has come across this before and could explain why it happens.
We have a client who authenicates on to our network over ADSL on a radius server. The password on the dailer1 interface changed from uppercase to lowercase yesterday without being touched. It no longer authenticates on to our system so I cannot telnet to it to change it back. I know this has changed do to the radius logs showing the clients username as trying to authenticate using the same username but in lowercase, so a reject responce is sent due to the username being case sensitive.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Andy

Hi,
I kind of understand what your saying.
When you say the password has changed, is this the password for the user who logs in via the radius server to your network? or the username on the remote router?
If i am understanding correctly, can you not change the entry on your radius server from CAPS to lowercase and try logging on again?
Can you SNMP write to the remote router?
Thanks

Hi,
Its the username on the dailer interface of the router. The problem is that you cannot change the username on the radius unless you re-create the acount. Then you have to change the password anyway. Which you have to do on the router... Its a pain....Im just really confused as to how the username can change like that.....
Cheers
Andy
