I understand how the Cisco IOS DHCP relay function works when one DHCP server is defined. (i.e. ip helper-address 10.1.1.1)
, but how does it work when multiple DHCP servers are defined across a WAN link?
Does it wait for response from the first DHCP server listed to timeout before the forwarding the same DHCP client request to the second listed DHCP server OR
does it send the DHCP client request to all the listed DHCP servers and the client accepts the first response from whichever one answers first (thus relying on response time to make the DHCP server selection)?
Thanks in advance,

Regan

It does send the request to all listed servers.
