Ciscoworks RME admin inventory problems

I am consistently having issues with the Inventory database. There are suspended devices that I cannot delete. There are not responding devices that I cannot delete as well as pending devices that I can do nothing with at all. Is there a way to clear the inventory database at a command line leve that will clear this database out completely so that I can rebuild it. I also have tried to create an import file that I have never had any luck with. any suggestions on that?

Thanks

Hi,

You can clear out your RME database using the following on a Solaris Platform

opt/CSCOpx/bin/perl /opt/CSCOpx/bin/dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=rme dmprefix=Essentials npwd=*your-new-password*

I have done this in the past on a Solaris box, plus also i've flushed the ANI database too, all without any issues...

The following link shows a bit more detail on how to do this on Solaris AND Windows:

Good luck

Paddy
