CLI prompt behaved weird!!!

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I need urgent help. I run c2500-is-l_112-18.bin on 2503.

The normal prompt must be:

ROUTER> (user mode)

ROUTER# (enable mode)

I have:

ROUTER (user mode, note that ">" is missing)

ROUTER (enablemode, note that "#" is missing)

Moreover, when I went to config mode I had this:

Hostname(config)# (in config mode the hostname appeard, I thought it must be the same as Prompt.

I suspect bug or IOS corruption in the flash. Please advise how to fix it.

Thank you

Hi, This is not a bug.

This is normal behaviour. Your router seem to have the Prompt command configured. The prompt is applied only to enable and user modes. So by removing the prompt command, your hostname would be displayed properly in all modes ( user, enable, global config).
