Clock Time Not set.

Hi,

I am using Cisco 2960 access switches and dont have NTP server so i can manually set time on switches but problem raised when these switches restart they show their factory default time. i -e  05:26:53.951 GMT Mon Mar 1 1993

This is taken from the configuration guide from Cisco .

Alain said it all - there's no hardware clock in these switches - so unless you have an NTP server for them to sync to on startup, they're always going to go back to the default startup time.

if you have internet access, you can configure them to time sync from one of the public NTP pool servers on startup - but you have to enter them via IP address, because IOS doesn't support setting an NTP server by name, so find a couple which are in your region, nslookup them, and set them in your config.

Make sure you've got your timezone and daylight time set correctly, though.
