Dear All,
Can anyone help me about the compatibility of SFP?i have 8 pcs of Catalyst 3750 switch,but do not buy SFP from Cisco,i buy the SFP from 3rd party which is very cheap,Now,i found it does not work on the Cisco switch,why?what shall i do something then it will work on cisco switch?i think i will not buy these parts from 3rd party,pls email me at best@lightrend.com ,Thanks very much.

Even i have heard that, 3rd party SFPs does not work on the Cisco switches. The port is shutdown, when you insert a GBIC other than Cisco SFP.

Cisco doesn't support anything but Cisco-branded GBICs and SFPs.
On some of the GBICs (1000base-T and DWDM), and all of the SFPs, they check for a special ID in the GBIC/SFP, and if it isn't Cisco-branded, it won't work.
