connecting two routers with Built in CSU/DSU

I'm working in my lab and I have some routers that have integrated CSU/DSU models.. How can I get them to talk via the serial interfaces using the integrated CSU/DSU. I know that if I have a regular serial connection I use a dte/dce cable and set the clock on the DCE side. Anybody got any ideas on how to do this? Do I use regular cross-over cables?

Hi,

You need a T1 cross-over cable for this (an regular Ethernet cross-over won't work). The pinouts for this are easily found on Google, otherwise it is:

Pin 1 -> Pin 4

Pin 2 -> Pin 5

Pin 4 -> Pin 1

Pin 5 -> Pin 2

Make sure you label this cable carefully, otherwise one day you will try use it as an ethernet cable and stuff wont work!
