Creating a VPN for my home Network Lab

Hello Community,

I have a question regarding accessing my home lab for a remote location. I have a CISCO ISR 1941 SECURITY BUNDLE CISCO1941-SEC/K9 IPSEC VPN Router. I want to access my home lab from remote locations. My question is what type of VPN to set up, what type of security will I use (SSL or IPSEC) and can I set it up so it is in use while I train on it for other things. Do I use Cisco Anyconnect client. I am very worried about having my home network be accessible via the internet, but I want to try. Also can I use my current Netgear Wireless Router for WiFi to my home or should I purchase a wifi card. What all is included in a Security Bundle, do I need to purchase a ASA Firewall before I implement this.

I also have a   Cisco 2821 Router ADVENTERPRISE 15.1T ios Call Manager Express CME 8.5 which I plan to add phones to my home. I am at a point where I want to start using my gadgets and any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

I don't get why you're taking about the Netgear wireless gear.
Anyway, you can access your remote lab by implementing anyconnect.
You can protect your home lab by audio implement zone base Firewall on your router.
Link for anyconnect config (straight forward):
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/anyconnect-secure-mobility-client/200533-AnyConnect-Configure-Basic-SSLVPN-for-I.html

Link for anyconnect and zbf:

If your Internet access is directly on your ISR then fine. If it's connected behind a home router, you'll need to configure a port forward from your internet router to your isr for anyconnect port (standard is tcp/443).

Thanks
Francesco
