Why MPLS is a evolution of MSPP ? What's the basic difference ? The common factors are, as my understanding,
1. based on Sonet/SDH transport.
2. deliver both voice(TDM) and packet(IP, ATM, ethernet/ppp)
I think MPLS is a evolution of IP. It provide high speed packet switching, Traffic engineering, and network protection/recovery function above IP network.
More confusing, I read a blog saying MPLS is a Sonet Alternative. Isn't Sonet is physical layer of MPLS ?
