DB25 to RJ45 adapter for Cisco 805 router

Please help me my friends!

My name is Zoltan and I'm from Romania, so please sorry for my english. I have a Cisco 805 router and I want to use with it a DB25 to RJ45 adapter. I have one but it's not preconfigurred. Please take a look at http://www.bopperock.home.ro , it's just a picture with my big problem. So I don't know how to put the coloured cables in the DB25-Female. Please HELP me to resolve this problem.

So I would like(if it's possibble) an answer like:

R1 to D3; R2 to D6; ....... (it's just an examlpe)

Thank you for your help,

best regards, Szasz Zoltan.

For flexibility, some Cisco routers provide a generic AUI connector for Ethernet ports. These AUI ports are designed to connect to an external transceiver for conversion to a specific media type (such as twisted pair, coax, or fiber). The transceiver may either be directly connected to the AUI port or through an AUI Cable as illustrated below:

Thank you, but my roueter is Cisco 805, not Cisco 1600 !!!

I wait for other answers, too.

Zlotan,

I couldn't access your web site, but I guess you are asking about console cables rather than Ethernet cables. I guess you have a PC with a DB25 COM port, and you want to use a DB25 female adapter.

You can find all the information you need about the console connections, and how to adapt those to DB25, here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps214/products_tech_note09186a00801f5d85.shtml

The document also refers to how to cable it to a modem. The info you need is in the table titled "Console Port Signaling and Cabling Using a DB-25 Adapter".

I know the document refers to "Cisco 1000, 1600, 2500, 2600, and 3600 Series Routers", but it is equally applicable to the 800 series. In fact, I found it under the technical documents for the 800 series:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/tsd_products_support_install_and_upgrade_technotes_list.html

Here is a good starting point for information about your router:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/tsd_products_support_series_home.html

Is this the information you need?
