We currently use a software to do snmp and ping tests on the entire network and I believe this software is getting a bit out dated and slow. We recently got ciscoworks going and I was wondering if anyone knows of a cisco plugin or software for ciscoworks that will do ping and snmp checks on devices and do alerts via pager and/or email.

If you have the latest version of CW2000 LMS 2.1 bundle, it comes with Device Fault Manager (DFM) application which is meant for Fault Management including email/paging alerts etc. More details can be seen at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2421/index.html
