Can anyone tell me how this is relayed to my pc from my router, the wan (dsl) interface has its ip assigned from the isp, does my pc use the ip name-server that the router has for its dhcp dns addresses ?

Hello,

If you are learning your IP address via DHCP (from your router) you are probably using the same settings provided from your ISP in so far as name servers etc.

You can check from your PC with ipconfig/all and verify with the results assigned to your router.

You can configure the router to import the DHCP options. For more info see:

Hope this helps.

Regards,

James
