DHCP Option 2 using Windows Clients

Hi folks,

Has anyone been successful in configuring option 2 using a Cisco router as the DHCP server and the client being a Windows XP and 7 PC?

I've tried the following syntaxes:

option 2 ascii "CST6CDT5,M3.2.0/02:00,M11.1.0/02:00"

or

option 2 hex ffff.aba0

or

option 2 ascii 0xffffaba0

Here's the full DHCP config:

ip dhcp pool TEST

import all

network 192.168.100.0 255.255.255.0

dns-server 4.2.2.2 8.8.8.8

default-router 192.168.100.2

domain-name test.com

option 42 ip 192.168.100.2

option 4 ip 192.168.100.2

option 2 hex ffff.aba0

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

Through sniffing and digging I found that windows doesn't support the options and doesn't allow them to be sent. Yay windows...
