Disabling ISDN Line Protocol spoofing on BRI Interfaces...

Is there a way of disabling ISDN line protocol spoofing on BRI interfaces so the line protocol goes down if the ISDN cable is removed from the back of the router? Shutting down the interface using 'Shutdown' isn't an option....

There is no way (at this point) to get the bri interface out of spoofing mode.

The question is "why do you need that way"?...Is that keeping you out from some designing scheme?

Unless you knew the whole picture it's difficult to explain simply....

Essentially, what we need to do isn't the 'standard' way of doing things.

Using a Floating Static scenario (not using any Dynanic Routing) we need to provide a backup path to an ISDN link. The problem is the BRI Interface line protocol spoofing stops us doing this because it doesn't report the 'true' status of the interface. For example, removing the ISDN cable from the router doesn't cause the line protocol to show 'down' and thus the floating static

mechanism won't work.

I have a feeling there's no way round this other than shutting down the interface....

YES..You have a problem there..Backup to DDR interface is difficult to achive..At this point we don't have any solution for this..We do have a feature request for that though..
