I have configured a standart access list on the 2600 router, applied it to an interface and successfully tested it. Then, all of a sudden, the access list stopped working. Come to find out, it had disappeared from the config.
Has anybody ever seen this phenomena?
thanks.

Hello,
have you written the access-list configuration to NVRAM (wr mem) ? Did that happen after a router reboot ?
After all this could be a bug, which IOS version are you using ?
Have you tried the command ´copy running-config startup-config ? This should save the config in any case, even after a reboot...

Georg

Thanks for your response. The router has not been rebooted; - in fact, it has not been touched for about 6 hours, but the access list was gone. The IOS ver is 12.3(6c).
Thanks

Hello,
when you do a ´sh run´ you should see a line at the top like this:
Current configuration : 2184 bytes
Compare this to what you see when you do a ´sh startup-config´, is the amount of bytes used different ? You might have a corrupted NVRAM...in which case you have to replace the router...:(

Georg
