Hi All,
after setting up routers with their hostnames and IPs, can you direct them to forward their details to a DNS, or, do you need to do this manually, for each device..? Sorry, still learning this area of networking. Cheers.

Do you mean like dynamic DNS within Windows 2000 DHCP?
To my knowledge this can't be done with IOS and you have to create static DNS entries for your network devices.

In addition to above you can make a Cisco router a DNS client which will enable you to do pings etc to fully qualified domain names.

If you need to update your DNS because you're pushing out hundreds of routers, I'd suggest you go about this the other way.
Set up a database of your router names & IPs. Use the database to generate your basic router configs, and push out the entries to DNS.
