Hello, I am very new to networking and I am currently trying to set up a lab in my computer science class. I am trying to set a forward lookup zone to our parent network's DNS server. When doing so the request says "A timeout occurred during validation" My DNS server cannot ping their DNS, but my router 2 can ping their DNS. I've also attached a picture of the topography. My DNS Server and DHCP are running off of the VLAN 200 with Proxmox. Let me know if seeing any configurations would be helpful!

How would I fix it?

Match area in both router interconnect by this subnet
I see area is different under ospf for same subnet'
Also there is more word are there any more prefix? Or yoh show all prefix?

Would I just add --More-- network 172.16.60.0 0.0.0.7 area 1 to R2?
I apologize I am not understanding.

Connect device to SW1 and ping to dns are ping success?
Does the device get IP via dhcp?
MHM

It does. Ping is a success
05-08-2024 07:52 AM
Without any static route anymore?
And It get IP from dhcp?
If both Yes then issue is solved and only DNS domains is wrong

It does but I cannot forward our DNS to theirs 172.16.200.21 is my DNS
and I need it to forward to 10.8.0.30 but it say "A timeout occurred during validation"
