DNS traffic iregularity

DNS lookups fail on client untill I issuse a command on my 1711 router that triggers a DNS lookup and then the client side works. The 1711 has one default route and firewall is enabled. I am using SDM 2.0 but I had the same problem with 1.1.a also.

Hello Stepan,

it sounds like your client are not allowed DNS lookups. Can you post the config of your 1711 ? Which DNS server are your clients using, and is is reachable from the clients ?

at a DOS prompt run the following command on your client: NSLOOKUP
