Dot1Q Vs SDE encapsulation

Dear Sir,

What IOS will support the 802.1Q encapsulation on 3745 and 2600 series E1 interfaces? what I found that it only support sde encapsulation?

I am running Enterprise plus feature set (C2600-JS-M), Version 12.2(6), on Cisco 2600 series router. At the moment don't know about 3745 router IOS.

What exactly the difference between both encapsulation?

Any adivce?
