DSL to Remote Site

I have been given the task to tie in a remote site to our LAN. On one end I have a Catalyst 6500 switch and I am considering DSL. I need recommendations for hardware. The remote site will have only one piece of equipment, but it is critical.

How far is the site from your LAN ? Is it feasible to run a fiber solution or even wireless or even a VPN solution over the internet ? Are you planning to use same IP scheme over the remote site or different IP ?

The site is about ten miles away, across a heavilly populated area. We had wireless at one time but they built a large hotel and shopping center between the sites. Because of security issues we dont have internet connections at these sites. I want to maintain the same scheme.
