E1 AIS error

Hi,

I had to make 4 Mbps connection to our branch office. I'am using MLPPP.

It worked for a while but a few days ago I realized that one link from two

went down. Of course the telco says everything is fine with the connection.

But is strange because I didn't change anything in the router's config.

My question is (to make sure): If i get AIS it is always a circuit error and

not a configuration error.

Thanks,

Andras

There are three possibilities to overcome this problem.

1) I would assume that when the link is down. I believe once you do a shut/no shut the link comes back up, so I would assume that the AIS alarm indication clears.

2) You can clear the bundle configuration in router and configure the same again , it may works some time.

3) I feel it might be bug; you can upgrade or downgrade the software. It will definitely fix your problem

Thanks for your reply.

The problem solved. It was a contact problem between

two telco equipments in the circuit.
