What is the difference between a balanced and a unbalanced e1? is it balanced uses 120ohm twisted pr and unbalanced uses 75 ohm coax and the ref to ground.
is it the same module?
if they are seperate modules, would it be physically possible to connect a balanced e1 NM to a circuit NTE using the unbalanced cable type? if so would this cause erroring.
not got physical access to the router
Applique type is Channelized E1 - balanced
Cablelength is Unknown

Depending on your platform, it might or might not be the same module. On the 1700/2600/3600/3700 platform, you can use the VWIC E1 MFT cards. With these card you can configure the impedance, hence a single card for both impedance. Note the cable ordered and use though. You have the options of the CAB-E1-RJ45BNC for unbalanced and CAB-E1-RJ45TWIN for balanced.
If your platform was the 7000/7200/7500, then you could choose the PA-4E1G/75 or PA-4E1G/120. These are two different modules and one cannot be use for another impedance. Matching cables are CAB-E1-BNC (75 ohms) and CAB-E1-DB15 (120 ohms).

please,
look your configuration about this:
framing: CRC4 - NO-CRC4
linecode: HDB3
PCM31 or unframed
OK

I did run in to this issue one time and it did cause errors on the interface , check with the carrier and find out if they are running balanced or unbalanced,Once we matched the carrier the errors ceased , we did have to swap out the card to match though.
