I have to terminate 2 x 2610XM's onto an International Private Leased Circuit 2Mb. I was going to install WIC-1T into the routers and get the carrier to present X.21 The client at the b-end has requested RJ45 presentation using an NM-1CE1T1-PRI.
Can this module be used for this purpose (Straight E1) or is it ISDN PRI specific.
Also as they will not present the circuit as RJ45 at the UK A-End, I assume you could not run with the different network modules/interfaces at each end i.e
A-end WIC-1T & B-end NM-1CE1T1-PRI

For straight E1 you might consider using the following module: VWIC-1MFT-G703.
This is a cheaper solution and it should be suitable for use on leased lines.

Leo,
Thanks for the response. I had originally specced wic-1t, but the solution is being dictated by the RJ45 at the client end.

RJ45 is just the connector. Step one is to verify what you will need to match what the provider offers.
For E1 leased lines using G703 either balanced (UTP RJ45) or unbalanced (coax) the type of WIC that I specified is probably correct for the balanced mode. We have succesfully used them to build a 2Mb WAN with 10 sites in a star-shaped topology.
