Effect of maximum paths command when fast switching enabled

when fast switching is enabled pks are load baanced per destination. I am wondering about the need for the maximum paths command then. Thanks.

The maximum-path command is simply use to change the number of parallel paths that can be installed in the RIB from a given protocol. For instance, the default for OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP and RIP is 4 and for BGP is 1. The maximum number of path is 6 or 8 depending on the IOS version you are running.
