Hi Guys,
Can some one clarify my doubt regarding the encryption methods supported on cisco routers. Our client has a closed user group network comprising of core, distribution and access location with 3600, 2600 and 1750 routers. The client wants to implement encryption technique between its core and distribution equippments. Which IOS version by default supports encryption technique on these router models?
Thank you... !

All three router types shown (1750, 2600, 3600) support both IPSec 3DES (168bit) and DES, (56bit) you will need special IPSec images for this, encryption is not supported in the standard feature sets..
For a 3DES image you need an image which name containing K2,
i.e. - c1700-k2sy-mz.121-18.bin (IP PLUS IPSEC 3DES)
For a DES image you need an image with a name that conatains 56i,
i.e. - c1700-sy56i-mz.121-18.bin (IP PLUS IPSEC 56)
Cisco used to support a propriatry encryption protocol (Cisco Encryption Protcocol) but this is no longer supported.
